God’s Gracious Gift

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

We are still working on the book called “God’s Gracious Gift.”

Please keep this in prayer.  It is being reviewed & reread again during this time.  We are also working on the book cover.

There are many things that still need to be done.  We covet your prayers for this book to touch the lives of people.

Specifically pray that God will use the testimonies to strengthen those who are already Christians in their walk with God.

Pray also that those who do not know Jesus will come to realize God wants them saved, too.  God helped me.  He can help anyone that calls on Him.

I was almost two decades younger when this book was started & it’s been fifteen years since the work was printed the first time.  I realize I was younger & I had so much more to learn about writing and about the Lord.  A decision has been made to keep the work like it was originally written hoping people will appreciate the work God did in my life even though there are probably several things in it that show some forms of immaturity on my part.

God uses us even though we are imperfect.  I think of how Moses asked God to send someone else because his speech wasn’t eloquent.  The first time I recall a pastor talking about this story they wondered what would have happened if Moses would have just trusted God and spoke as God told him to without Moses expecting Aaron to do the talking for him.   I thought about that today and decided I’ll take this step of faith.  I will trust God to use this book for HIS GLORY and for the good of the people HE WANTS TO TOUCH.

Please agree in prayer asking God to do the blessing of this book.

Summary About The Caffeine Info

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Thanks to the people that gave their input about the caffeine information.

Quick summary of opinions after hearing from a few people about that:

  1. It’s good for us to take care of our bodies for the bodies we are given belong to God. You are the temple of the Holy Ghost.
  2. We should not believe everything we hear/read.  The information shown on that link appears to be fairly correct according to the few pages observed.  Do recall that all scientific tests have different variables.
  3. No two people are exactly alike.  The caffeine may cause some sort of chemical imbalance in some people but not in other people.
  4. Caffeine is said to have good benefits, too.  The link shown does mention the pros and cons to be considered when using caffeine.
  5. Pray seeking God’s direction about this especially if you have been known to have problems with or have been told that you appear to be bipolar or schizophrenic.

I Had No Idea There Could Be A Link Between Caffeine & Mental Disorders!

Anxiety and sleep disorders

Long-term overuse of caffeine can elicit a number of psychiatric disturbances. Two such disorders recognized by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) are caffeine-induced sleep disorder and caffeine-induced anxiety disorder.

In the case of caffeine-induced sleep disorder, an individual regularly ingests high doses of caffeine sufficient to induce a significant disturbance in his or her sleep, sufficiently severe to warrant clinical attention.

In some individuals, the large amounts of caffeine can induce anxiety severe enough to necessitate clinical attention. This caffeine-induced anxiety disorder can take many forms, from generalized anxiety to panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, or even phobic symptoms. Because this condition can mimic organic mental disorders, such as panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, or even schizophrenia, a number of medical professionals believe caffeine-intoxicated people are routinely misdiagnosed and unnecessarily medicated when the treatment for caffeine-induced psychosis would simply be to withhold further caffeine. A study in the British Journal of Addiction concluded that caffeinism, although infrequently diagnosed, may afflict as many as one person in ten of the population.

********************************************Now how many people do you suppose will take this seriously?

If this means something to you let me know about it.
