Postive Thoughts

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Positive thinking can help alleviate stress and anxiety.

God’s Word tells us to be anxious not.  I find that if I’m busy doing the things I am supposed to be doing I am less likely to spend time worrying.

Today’s devotional talked about using the gifts God has given you.  If you are doing things God wants you to do you will most probably have a lot less stress in your life.

I hope the positive thoughts that came to me this morning will enrich you.

It Is All About Jesus Afterall

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

We know that every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  Jesus is Lord, Messiah, Deliverer, Savior, Son of God, Prince of Peace, Mighty Counselor, the Chief Cornerstone,  the Stone that the Builders rejected. . . .

Jesus

When we focus on Jesus instead of on our problems we find truth.  Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by Jesus.

I pray to God saying,  “Lord God send your truth. Shine your light.  Make a way where it looks like there is no way.  Let your truth prevail. Expose the deeds of darkness.  Set the captives free.  Loosen the bonds of those that are in slavery to sin.  Help the broken hearted.  Deliver us all from evil.  Open our eyes that we may see the truth at all times. Help us speak the truth in love.  Help us turn from evil ways and live.  Forgive our sins and forgive those that have sinned against us.  Prevent us from harming others.  Thank-you for doing things that no one else can do.”

PRAISE  goes to the FATHER, SON, & HOLY GHOST.

Have you ever had circumstances hit you that kept you from keeping your focus where it belongs?  Has anyone or anything ever dominated your thought realm to the point of what seems like an unending battle that cannot be won? Don’t let unholy thoughts permeate your being.  Don’t let satan rob your joy.  Quickly go to Jesus.

Go to Jesus.  Get your mind on the Lord.  Stay in touch with God.  Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.  Resist the devil and he will flee.

Do You Have Time Today?

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

I was reminded that many times people don’t think they have enough time in a day.  I’ve thought that a lot in the past.  I felt pressured and pushed to do things just because it seemed like the right thing to do or because I had somehow learned that certain people expected things from me.

I saw a movie about Johnnie Cash last night.  They talked about John during the movie.  They said that when he wrote the song about walking the line it is believed that he was actually writing about all the ways he was trying to walk the line to please everyone in his life.

Upon remembrance of how we all have times when we get anxious about tomorrow and we worry about the best way to spend our time I want to mention Mary.

Mary & Martha are the two sisters mentioned in the Bible that spent time with Jesus.  There was a time when Martha complained to Jesus about Mary because all Mary was doing was sitting at the feet of Jesus listening to Him speak while Martha was busy rushing around to do other physical things that we call work.

It takes time to study God’s Word.  It takes dedication to sit at the feet of Jesus.  Whether you learn more about God through personal Bible study, by going to church, or in some other fashion know that sitting at Jesus feet has great value.

Luke 10:38-42, “38Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.39And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.40But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me 41And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

Take time to rid yourself of anxiety by sitting at the feet of Jesus.  Read the Bible.  Enjoy meditating on God’s Word and God’s ways.  Take time for Jesus and He will take time for you.

God Is In Control

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

“God is in control of the world so just relax and let Him handle things for a while.”

Thought shared by Genevieve Ambler & Elizabeth Wolfe

KJV

Proverbs 20:24Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?

Proverbs 20:24 (New Living Translation)

24 The Lord directs our steps,
so why try to understand everything along the way?

Cast Your Cares On Jesus

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

I want to give all my cares to the Lord.  I know He can be trusted with all my concerns.

I used to think of casting my cares on the Lord as if I was going to the foot of His cross talking to Him about everything.  Tonight I thought about casting my cares on Him in a new way.  I thought of how a person casts a fishing line out over the water in order to throw that line as far away from them as they can hoping for deeper water or a new spot where fish may be hiding.  I want to cast  or throw all my concerns up to the Lord sending those cares far away from me because I realize that God can handle things far better than I can.

God cares about you.  Cast your cares on Him because He does care for you.

I told a friend today that God has her own best interests at heart.  I’ve been reminded of that phrase often.  When I first heard the statement, “He has your own best interest at heart” it was said that a father had the interests of his children at heart.

I do believe God has the interests of his own children kept on His mind.

No earthly Father or Mother can love their own children more than God loves us.  He loved us so much He gave us His Only begotten Son to save us from our sins.

Whenever you feel down by the pressures of life put your trust in the One and Only true God that will help you overcome as you face earth’s trials.

If you feel for a friend or loved one and you have a great concern for their welfare trust in God.  Trust that God will watch over them and he will help them in ways that you cannot.

Psalm 34:3-5, “3O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.4I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.5They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.”

Psalm 94:18-20, “18When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.19In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.20Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?”

Isaiah 35:3-5, “3Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees 4Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.5Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.”

Isaiah 41:9-11, “9Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away.10Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.11Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.”

Philipians 4:5-7, “5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Surrender All

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Did you know there is no strife or struggling if you surrender all things to Jesus?

Recall that fights cease once someone surrenders.  Surrender everything to God and He will take care of things perfectly well.  The battle is not yours.  The battle belongs to God.

Strife -VS- Surrender

These Signs Will Follow Believers

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

Mark 16 tells us the signs that will follow believers.

These signs still follow believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.

God is not dead.  The same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is the same spirit that raises us from death to life.  We can have a victorious joy filled Christian life because Jesus died on the cross for our sins.

We can sing and shout those words, “I’m so glad Jesus set me free. I’m singing glory halleluia Jesus set me free.” and “satan had me bound but Jesus set me free. I’m singing glory halleluia Jesus set me free.”

If you are living in bondage or you know someone who is remember that the blood of Jesus washes us white as snow.  Demons have to flee and every knee will bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.  There is no power anywhere that is able to separate you from the love of God.
