God’s Gracious Gift

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

We are still working on the book called “God’s Gracious Gift.”

Please keep this in prayer.  It is being reviewed & reread again during this time.  We are also working on the book cover.

There are many things that still need to be done.  We covet your prayers for this book to touch the lives of people.

Specifically pray that God will use the testimonies to strengthen those who are already Christians in their walk with God.

Pray also that those who do not know Jesus will come to realize God wants them saved, too.  God helped me.  He can help anyone that calls on Him.

I was almost two decades younger when this book was started & it’s been fifteen years since the work was printed the first time.  I realize I was younger & I had so much more to learn about writing and about the Lord.  A decision has been made to keep the work like it was originally written hoping people will appreciate the work God did in my life even though there are probably several things in it that show some forms of immaturity on my part.

God uses us even though we are imperfect.  I think of how Moses asked God to send someone else because his speech wasn’t eloquent.  The first time I recall a pastor talking about this story they wondered what would have happened if Moses would have just trusted God and spoke as God told him to without Moses expecting Aaron to do the talking for him.   I thought about that today and decided I’ll take this step of faith.  I will trust God to use this book for HIS GLORY and for the good of the people HE WANTS TO TOUCH.

Please agree in prayer asking God to do the blessing of this book.

Please Pray

Thank the Lord for helping Hannah & Abigail get to come home from the Hospital!

Please think of these people in your prayers:

Ann – AJ – Bob – Breanna – Brenda – Carla – Camryn – Jackie – Jennifer – Kay  – Kirsti- Randy – Randy – Susan – Sarah

Praise the Lord for the way He helped some people I know get through some mini storms they had to deal with.

Keep prayerful – Pray without ceasing.  The fervent effectual prayers of the righteous will avail much.  Our righteousness is not our own.

Pray that those who are evil will turn from their evil ways and live.  Pray for those who are sick.  Pray for the widows & the orphans.

Pray about &  for the scoundrels that try to take advantage of weaker individuals.  May God grant gracious mercy to the weak ones & may the good Lord turn the tables on the devil every time.

Pray for the ones who are weak that God will be their tower of strength.

Pray for the eyes of God’s people to be open so they will know when a wolf in sheep’s clothing is in their midst & that they will know how to be wise like a serpent but remain gentle like a dove.

Pray for God fearing Pastors that will stand up for what is right and good.

Praise report for a man named Lonnie.  Lonnie was hospitalized and placed in ICU.  He was put on a ventilator due to some sort of infection in his lungs.  His condition has improved but prayer is still needed for a full recovery.

Marianne needs healing for her eye.

Dennis & Louanna both had broken wrists & they both recently had surgery.

Sue is diagnosed with terminal cancer.  Please pray for her & those who love her best.  She said she has always believed in God.

Diana & Tony are asking God to grant them the blessing of a baby.  This couple has been patiently waiting on the Lord for a child.

Praise report —–> Brian & Darcy are going to be having twins.  We pray that God will provide everything they all need.

There are several couples in need of revival in their marriages.  Praise God that they see a need to get help in their marriages. Thank the Lord that when all looks lost God is able to send help to those who desire it.

I know some people that may need special help by reading self-help books or they need special counseling of some kind.  We will give God praise again that these  people are not afraid to let it be known that they need  help.  Please pray that God will direct them to the right Godly counselors &/or reading material that will help them in the best ways.

Pray for your Pastor and his family.  Pray for the counselors in your churches.  These people may get bombarded with hearing needs that other people have.  Pray that God will guide them in the best ways so they can help others.

Jackie & Bob need special prayer at this time, too.  Bob has been dealing with a serious illness.

Jan, Susan, Joyce, Maritza, Bud, and others are dealing with or have dealt with problems with cancer.  Please pray for them and for their families.

The fervent prayers of the righteous avail much.  Do not grow weary in well doing.  It may seem like the prayer list gets lengthy when you take time to pray.  Do not grow weary in your prayer life.  God does hear and answer prayers.  God can handle every request in a perfect way.

One of the children we were recently praying for has received a good report.  Jacob was once thought to have H1N1- he was taken to children’s hospital and came home with a report that he has the croup.  There are still plenty of others dealing with this H1N1.  Let us keep them in prayer.

Please pray for Bud  – cancer

Praise report -- Amy and the new baby Liam Ray are both healthy and doing fine.
Remember we prayed for Amy and Karen due to the complications they had during
their pregnancies? Amy gave birth to Liam about a week and half early and all
is well. Karen is still waiting. Things seem to be going okay for Karen.
Karen and her daughter could use some added prayer.

Pam needs special prayer. Her intestines have a kink in them and there are
other problems. There is talk of surgery. I think it would be wonderful if
this problem healed without that surgery for it has been known to happen before.
The situation has gotten pretty rough on Pam. She spent some more time in the
emergency room recently and she's lost a lot of weight due to the physical
problems that include vomiting and dehydration. Please ask the Lord to give Pam
a miraculous healing.

God can do anything.

Pray For The Newlyweds

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

I’ve received word about two different sets of newlyweds that got married in the past few weeks.

I don’t know why each of these couples let me know they are married but they haven’t told other people about this yet. Maybe they like having their special times together without everyone else knowing it.  It’s nice for couples to keep their little secrets together.
A good friend of mine from Florida talked to me yesterday.  She retold me a story of a man giving her and her husband advice once they got married.  The man walked up to them and told them he wanted to give them some advice.  I guess they rolled their eyes when he said that to them.  He went on to tell them that he knew they had probably been getting lots of advice from many people.  He then said he wanted to give them the best advice they could receive.  He said, “Don’t listen to anyone else’s advice!”

It’s humorous but it has a ring of truth to it, doesn’t it?

Christian people that are married and have been married for a long time know that the relationship they share is supposed to be sacred.  Other people are not supposed to know everything about them and they are not supposed to govern them or control them.  God declares that the couple should leave parents and cleave to their married partner.

Let us pray for all newlyweds that they can keep their marriage bed undefiled and that they can join together as one making right decisions without being stained by other people’s opinions.  Let us pray that they will unite as one the way God intends for them to unite.

Praise God At All Times

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

I am remembering to praise God at all times.

I heard the good news about Gretchen and her little baby.  Things are still going quite well with this pregnancy.  They are having a baby shower for the Mother and Child soon.

My Mom is home from the hospital.  She has been encouraged by the hospital to go on a stricter diet.  We’ll keep that in prayer.  I am so thankful for all the prayers.

I haven’t heard anymore about Samuel the past few days.  Please keep that young man in your prayers.

Several family members have been fighting off illnesses like the cold and the flu.  I’ve had my own share of things lately, too.

Just taking a moment to type a message letting you all know how good it feels to know My Mother is able to be home from the hospital & Gretchen’s pregnancy is going well at this time.  Some of the people that were ailing with the colds and flu type things have gotten better, too.

We need to continue praying for Samuel.  There are a multitude of people to pray for.  Isn’t it great to know that God is able to handle every single request in perfect ways?

I thought about when the disciples asked Jesus how to pray.  “Our Father, Who Art In Heaven. . . . . . “

The Lord’s prayer causes me to recall that there seems to be a form of relinquishment within that prayer.  When we say, “Thy Will Be Done On Earth As It Is In Heaven” we are reminding ourselves that we want God’s will here and everywhere.  We are relinquishing every matter into His hands and fully putting our trust in Him.

I expect God knows we have times when we don’t know how to pray.  These thoughts always help me turn things over to God because no one can help us like God can.

Thanks to all the prayer partners who took time to add our personal prayer requests to their own prayers.

Keep praying all goes well for them.

Prayer & Praise

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

Prayer and praise go together in some ways.  We are to enter His gates with thanksgiving in our hearts.  We are to enter into His courts with praise.

A while back I posted a prayer request for Gretchen and her unborn child.  We can praise God that things are going well for her at this time.

We can praise God because He has the whole world in His hands making all things work together for good.

Krista is in need of continued prayer.

There are a few other families going through the death of a loved one.  There are others suffering loss through the death of a relationship.

A friend of mine contacted me today telling me how she went through the death of a relationship many years ago.  She is an adult and she realizes that she doesn’t have to be abused by a family member any longer.  The abusive situation caused so much pain that she has gone on with her life staying away from the ones that caused her so much grief.

I’ve heard similar stories in the past.  I agree with a Christian Psychiatrist that I heard on the radio years ago.

It was said that God requires that we forgive people that have treated us wrongly.  We are told to pray for them even when they have harmed us.  We are also instructed to treat them nicely.  We are not told we have to stay around people that bring us pain.  If the situation is not tolerable God has ways of setting people free from oppression.

Please pray for the oppressed.

Jesus came to set the captives free.  Do you know anyone that is needing set free from anything?  Let’s pray for them asking the Lord to deliver them from evil.

We can also praise God because He is the One that gives people strength to endure when they are suffering as well as being the One that hears their cries for mercy when they call upon Him.
