So many people are talking about how they’ve been let go from jobs where they once enjoyed high pay and benefits.
We are always hearing this sad news.
One of my friends met me in the store telling me she was let go where she used to work. She took a bit of training and now she’s working as a certified nurse assistant. She may add to that education in the future or she may continue enjoying the work she is doing at this time. Praise God she has a new job.
Another person I know was let go when others at his place of employment were let go. He knows that some employers are cutting their expenses. We can only hope some of these employers will act with fairness not letting anyone go unless they absolutely have to. It would be a shame if everyone just started acting in fear making the problem grow. This other person was talking to me today telling me he didn’t want to sit around waiting for unemployment and it wasn’t his goal to go broke if all it takes is for him to take a job that didn’t even pay as much as what he was used to earning if that is what it takes to keep him from being jobless working at home (without getting paid for it – anyone know what that’s like?) when he wanted to actively participate in the working force again. My heart went out to him. I called on the Lord again asking God to provide him with work even if that work is something temporary until he gets blessed with something better. Many people have been keeping this Godly man and his family in prayer.
Later in the afternoon he let me know he has been offered a job. He doesn’t know if it will be worth it for him to take the job since it isn’t close to his home but he’s going to see if it may work out. This praise report is praise to God for giving us hope that there are still some jobs out there and if a person really works at it they may find something. It may not always be what you want and it may not seem as great as what one once had but who knows what God has planned for a person that has a heart to do the right thing?
I thought about how God may use some humble servants to bless others as they work at a job where they are only offered a temporary beginning helping them get their foot in the door. Maybe God wants them sharing the love of Jesus in a certain spot at a certain time. We know God makes all things work together for good for those who love Him for those that are the called according to His purpose. Why can’t God use people when they are somewhere they didn’t expect to be?
