Do You Love Jesus?

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

Read these words & read God’s Word then decide for yourself, Do you really really love Jesus? :

Very powerful words – He will help us with anything we need help with. Of course He will handle all things in perfect ways & His ways are higher than ours. To be reminded that IF WE LOVE HIM WE WILL KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS IS POWERFUL!!! Does this mean that those who are not keeping His commandments do not love Him?

John 14:11-17, “11Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.15If ye love me, keep my commandments.16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”

Live, I Say Live Declared The Lord

Ezekiel 16: 6, “And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.”

This Scripture is given during Ezekiel’s allegorical message from God.  The message was given to the people of Jerusalem.  The hidden spiritual meaning of this message was to let the people know that although they weren’t doing things God’s way and even when others were not caring for them God  cared for them.

There is a lot more to the story but this is the section I want to write about today.

This passage of Scripture was used years ago by a man & his wife that I one day called on for prayer.   I was included in a church prayer line.  I was calling the next available person on the list when an elderly Christian man answered the phone.  This man told me that he had always been led to claim Ezekiel 16:6 whenever there was a condition concerning the blood or a blood condition involved.

I listened to what he said & I began to include Ezek. 16:6 in my own prayers whenever anyone had some sort of blood condition that needed prayed for.

It’s the faith that comes from God’s Word being spoken that helped bring forth good results with that prayer.  It seems as though proclaiming life in the Lord’s name increases faith.  To know that even though those words come from an allegory doesn’t change the fact that we know God is able to give life when it looks like life is being taken away.

My niece was not yet born when her Mother was said to possibly be having trouble at some point.  We claimed Ezekiel 16:6 over her & I wrote her name in one of my Bibles right next to that passage.  My niece lived and she is still with us today.

The Word of God is definitely not to be used like a good luck charm.  It’s not something we pull out just to get what we want when we want it even though it can possibly appear that way at times.  God’s Word is our life.  We need Him and His Word is Living.  When we concentrate on His Word we are able to obtain special strength from it.

A couple of my Christian friends have reminded me recently about the power of praying the Scriptures.  There is always something good about meditating on God’s Holiness & His Holy Word.   His Word will not come back void without accomplishing that which it was sent forth to do.  God will use His Word to help heal us.   God can do anything!

Are You Acting Like a Prodigal Son Or Daughter?

Friday, January 8th, 2010

Today we read about the prodigal son.  Our Bible study reminded us of things that I’d like to share.

The prodigal son left home (he not only left the comforts of home but he went his own way probably because he didn’t like following the rules at home and he did not appreciate how good it was where he was) and he went his own way.

If you’ve heard the story before you already know that the p. son found out that the grass was a lot browner on the other side.  As a matter of fact he found out that after he wasted all of his earthly inheritance things were pretty barren where he ended up living.  He was so hungry he realized his Dad’s servants were eating better than he was.

He planned on admitting his error and decided to go back to his Dad’s house hoping he could at least work as a servant for his Dad.  He was realizing his former way of living was better than the life he had chosen for himself.

My husband pointed out the fact that the father in this story was looking for his son.  The Bible says that the father saw his son from afar.  He must have been looking for him eagerly awaiting his return.  The father was overjoyed that his son was coming back.  The words of the father actually tell that the father knew the son had left death and come back to life.

” Luke 15:24For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.”

God eagerly waits for those that have strayed from the right path that will give them life.  God wants people to come back to Him.  He wants us to follow His ways.  He won’t force the issue.

A person can choose to do things their own way if they want to.  They can also choose to come back to God once they see how their ways are not working out so well for them.

God is so forgiving.  His mercy never ends.  If you’ve strayed from Godly teachings or you see where you’ve neglected to appreciate the way of living you know God intends for you to be a part of come back to God.

Come back to God asking Him to allow you to be a servant of His.  You won’t be disappointed.  All who call on the Lord will be saved.  God will give you everything you need to follow Him.  God will accept you, forgive you, clean you up, and He will be with you always.

Being separated from our Heavenly Father is the greatest pain one can ever know.  Won’t you come back to the Lord today?
