Lord, Keep Me As The Apple Of Thine Eye

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Psalm 17:8&9, “Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings, from the wicked who oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass about me.”

The Lord is our Keeper.

No one can keep us from danger like He can.  No one else spells it all out for us so beautifully.

He says we are as the apple of His eye.

A friend of mine sent me word today about how he wants to be remembered if God shows me favor.  We all sort of kid around about how we want to be remembered if one of our friends or family members gets fame or fortune of any kind.

All I could think of is how the things of this world won’t last forever.  I went on to remember that the heavenly rewards God has in store for us are far more valuable than anything that we can get on earth.

I’m not seeking a quick entrance into heaven until it’s God’s time to take me to that heavenly home.  I do like to ponder on the reality of what is to come.  We have a home waiting for us in heaven.  There will be no more sorrow, no more tears, no more evil actions, and  no more con games from slick individuals that seek to devour others.

In heaven we will be able to be with the Lord forever.  The Lord who gave His own life for us so we could have rewards that last forever.  Life everlasting as promised to us by the Creator of the Universe.

I do have a home in gloryland that outshines the sun.  There is a home  waiting for me where I can rejoice without having another moment of pain or sorrow.  These things are so real to me.

I’ve asked the Lord to keep me as the apple of His eye.  I’ve continued to pray that He will hide me in the shelter of His wings.  My trust is in the Living God to protect me from mortal enemies.  Even though I’ve put my trust in God to keep me safe I do know there is an appointed time for all things.  God is the keeper of my soul.  God is the one who holds my times in His hands.  When it is His time for me to leave this old earth I know there is a better home  waiting for me.

These are not just words from songs I’ve heard for years.  These words ring within my own heart.  I hear the Lord speak within me telling me that He cares for us with an undying love that death cannot destroy.  There is no second death for those that believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

I don’t serve a buddha or an unnamed higher power.  My Lord and Savior Is Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  Jesus is the true One  & Only Son of God.  He died on the cross for my sins.  He  was raised from the dead on the third day after He paid the price for our sins.  He is alive forever.  He sits at the right hand of God.

Jesus sits at the right hand of God interceding for us even now.  He hasn’t forgotten us.  We are not strangers to Him.  Jesus is Lord.  Those who believe in Jesus will not be disappointed.

We’re not supposed to be afraid of anyone that can harm the body.  We are to fear the Living Lord of all who has control of the soul.

If all you care about is the things this world has to offer you will be sadly disappointed.  If you do not fear the Lord you may obtain riches, wealth, or other joys this world has but those things will not last forever.  If you don’t get right with God you will suffer the consequences.

What?  Did I really type that for everyone to be able to read?  Yes, I did.  It’s the truth.  The truth sets people free.  Without truth permeating through your being constantly you suffer.

I know for I have seen  how people suffer when they don’t walk in truth at all times.  They vaccilate back and forth being tormented by the lies of the enemy. They sometimes think they’ve got the world in the palm of their hands.  They actually think they can control the course of their lives and possibly the lives of others.  They forget that even if they gain things of this world their lives will one day be required of them.  They will answer to the Living Lord of all.

The sheep will be separated from the goats.  No amount of manipulation or words of rationalization thought up by man will work when facing the King of Kings.  God knows everything.  God knows all hearts and everything will be brought into the light.

Numbers 32 says if you have sinned against the Lord you can be sure your sin will find you out.

God wants to keep you as the apple of His eye.  God is the one who wants to save the sinner’s soul.  Don’t be deceived by the enemy.  Don’t let anyone cause you to think that you can be saved without repentance.

Confessing sins and repenting is all part of putting the Lord on the throne of your heart.  If you are not willing to confess of your sins how can you be saved?

If people don’t acknowledge their need for healing how will they be healed?

Revelation 21:1-5 – The New Heaven & The New Earth – No More Pain There

Friday, March 26th, 2010

1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

When Babies/Children Go To Heaven

Pastor Ron Johnson shared a poem at a memorial service that was held for a son that died the day he was born.  Pastor may have said he changed another poem to help it read this way.  It’s been 26 years since my son died the day he was born and I can still recall the words shared at the memorial service.
For all those that have little ones in heaven:

He’ll (or they’ll) get an education that will probably be worth several times as much as we could buy for them on earth.

It’ll be in the Lord’s big school house without contempt nor fear while there is no end to the things that could come to him down here.

So my precious glorious saints, let your hearts with JESUS rest    and
don’t go criticizing the one that knows the best.

He’s given us many pleasures. He has the right to take away.  To the Lord be praise and glory now and ever let us pray.

You can press on that link to read about the Chickasha crash that killed a couple of girls.  It is said a text message was sent to someone from one of the girls before the crash.  The message explained that the girls “GOT SAVED” at the fair they were attending.

Their earthly lives were not spared but their spiritual lives were touched before the fatal crash.

Heaven Is Wonderful

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

I’ve been going through a lot of paperwork the past few weeks.

I found notes I wrote down about a dream I had several years ago.

It was very interesting to read about a wonderful dream where there was peace, joy, and patience among all the people in the dream.  There was enough space, food, and provision for all the people in the dream.  Animals that would normally be animals we’d be afraid to be too close to were not harming people in any way.

There was also a wonderful waterfall and or river very close to the area where we all lived in that dream.

I read my notes feeling as though it must have been some sort of reminder of things to come.  My notes even mentioned that the dream made me feel as though it must have been a small sample of heaven to see the things seen in the dream.

With all the dreary things we read and hear about on a daily basis it’s great to stop and ponder of the fine and good things that God has in store for those who believe in Him.

This place isn’t our home.  We are just passing through.  We’re all like foreigners in a strange land while we walk on this old earth.

This earth is decaying.  There are still places and things of beauty to be found but it is rare for all people to get times to enjoy the beauty that’s still here.

When we all get to heaven.  When the final trumpet is sounded.  When the Lord has separated the sheep from the goats the sheep will gather at the Shepherd’s feet enjoying sweet pasture.  It will be a day of rejoicing.
No more sorrow will be found in heaven.

Do not grow weary in well doing, Saints of God.  Do the things you know are right because you love the Lord and hate the evil.  Obey the Lord and you will be blessed.

The pains we suffer or see as suffering this side of heaven will be forgotten when we enter into the special place He has prepared for those who believe.

Think on the fine good things of God.  Ponder on the sweetness that will one day be yours.  Your Redeemer lives!!!
